WA1JAY - Ham Radio Satellite
Ham Radio YouTube Channel
Live ham radio satellite QSOs, gear reviews, and roving adventures from Grid FM05gi in North Carolina. I'm WA1JAY, an Amateur Extra Class operator with a passion for making contacts via satellite. I first got licensed as a Novice in 1997 and have been active on and off ever since. While I enjoy operating across many bands and modes, satellite communication is where I feel most at home. Most of my videos feature real-time QSOs using FM and SSB satellites, along with occasional tutorials and gear reviews to help fellow hams get on the birds. I also document my portable operations and roving trips — including activations from Paradise Island in the Bahamas (Grid FL14), where I’ve been operating since 2000 using HF QRP and satellites. Whether you're a seasoned operator or just curious about working satellites, I hope you find something here that inspires your next contact!
